Forever 21 mini haul & fitting room review

I got my Forever 21 order yesterday! Good news was everything was cute in person, but the bad news was some of it was just impractical. Today I made a trip to my local F21 to return some of the things and to see if anything caught my eye in store (I think I could only get store credit anyway).

First off - things from my order that I liked and am keeping:
Gold: Forever 21 Embellished Chain Bracelet (strings cut off)
Although they were final sale, I really did like them and would have kept them even if I could return them. The silver bracelet was surprisingly heavy and thick. It really felt substantial on my wrist which I like (because then I'd realize if it fell off!) The gold bracelet I ended up cutting the strings off like I planned, and underneath was a very pretty plain gold bracelet that was very similar to the silver except in weight.

Top: Forever 21 Textured Skinny Belt, XS/S in Mustard
Bottom: Forever 21 High Waist Leopard Belt, (no longer online)
I really liked these two belts. They are both size XS/S. I will be punching holes in the mustard belt so I can wear it at my waist. The leopard belt is already high waisted but it was great that I am able to wear it in a middle notch - means even smaller girls can wear this belt! Now if only I could find it online...

I ended up returning both of the "silky scarves" that I purchased. They were each 24 x 24 inches, which was a little bit too small to do anything with. I really wanted to be able to wear the scarves almost as a vest with a belt cinching the waist like other bloggers do, but these were much much too short for that. I think a good length might be 36 x 36 inches. Since I made the return, I decided to check out the store and see if anything caught my eye. Almost immediately I found this Rust colored textured blazer and this chunky knit sweater dress/tunic.

I really liked the length of this jacket in both the arms and the torso. The front is slightly longer than the back, as you can see in the above pictures. I also liked that the pockets didnt have a flap (I noticed that ALL of my blazers have flap pockets the other day). The bust could be a bit more snug but overall I was pleased with the fit of the jacket. I also really like the color - Rust is all over the place for fall. I am kicking myself for not picking up a rust Gap jacket (they had 2 styles in size 0 for less than 20$ after sales, whereas this one from F21 is $28). However, I do like the style of this jacket better than either Gap one that I saw, and I like that it has a texture to it (unfortunately not captured in any of these iphone pictures)
The tunic I picked up because I THOUGHT it was Navy blue and white! Oops, it is black. Damn you fitting room lighting for tricking me! I know I will wear this as a cute dress for school, but I'm not sure if I could pull it off as a tunic when it gets colder. Maybe with black leggings and black boots? The dress was cuter in person than in these pictures, and for only 13.50 I couldn't pass it up. I thought it looked great with the waist cinched by a colorful belt (like the mustard one I have on above).

Finally, I spotted this "interesting" vest. It is 100% leather outer, which was surprising from F21. I found it online like 10 minutes ago and now Shopstyle says it is sold out! What?? Well, here is the link to the F21 website where it does not SEEM to be sold out: Forever 21 Leather Fringe Vest
I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. I kind of feel too much like a cowgirl wearing it. Here is how I impromptu styled it when I got home (mostly because I've been dying to wear these boots since I got them at the beginning of the summer, lol):
I would never wear that outfit out as is above! I'm thinking if I keep the vest, I would make it the statement of the outfit and likely wear all black with it. Maybe a black long-sleeved shirt, black skinny jeans or leggings, and my black knee high, or over the knee boots to go out. Well, I have 14 days to decide if I like it, right??

Thanks for reading!
