PUPPY

I got a puppy Saturday!!! Since then, I've been woken up at least twice every night by crying. She's had several messy accidents inside the house. It's all sucked but has also been wonderful at the same time. She is a french bulldog and I named her Wednesday after Wednesday Addams. I'm in love! Anyway, since I've gotten no sleep the past few nights, I didn't put much thought into what I wore. Today I decided to take some pictures anyway, and show off my Wednesday. Also, please excuse the mess, I'm moving in 2 days.

And now for some gratuitous shots of my puppy the day we brought her home.
She fell asleep in my BF's butt, lol. The bottom right has to be my favorite shot yet. One of her ears has yet to go up - we are supposed to massage it and hopefully it will go up in the next several weeks. If it isn't up in a few months we'll have to tape it, which I hope doesn't happen.

something i never do, but i did

I was browsing some of my favorite blogs today, and came across one I hadn't seen yet documenting a family's journey to adopt a baby girl. This blog really struck me because I am adopted. Being adopted, you'd think I'd know a thing or two about the process, but I really don't. I never asked my parents that many questions, probably because I don't want to come across as ungrateful or not appreciative of the fantastic life they've given me. Seeing the Congolese Love blog and seeing how expensive adoption is really stuck with me. I won't get started about how I feel about people who want to have children and can't versus people who abuse their ability to have children, but let's just say I immediately felt I wanted to help these people get the child they deserve. They are hosting an iPad 2 giveaway to raise funds for the adoption. Go on over and show your support, I certainly did!

is that your st. patrick's day shirt?

My boss today asked me if this was my St. Patrick's Day shirt. I didn't know what to think about that, so I just took it as a compliment? I personally love the ties at the top, I used to wear it in a bow but recently I've just been letting them hang for a more casual-office vibe. However, I did realize why I never wear these Loft trouser jeans EVER - they make my hips look um...larger than I really am.
Shirt: Dept via Hautelook
Cardigan: Banana Republic

lime pink blue

I spent all day today trying to make a website for my work. I made a few in the past for my sorority during college, and was confident I could still do it... but as I dredged on today, I realized in college I at least had access to a real HTML editor. Today I had to make due with a free one I downloaded off the internet, and it didnt look so great. Anyone have any suggestions on good free (or less than 50$) HTML editors??

weekend wear

There's nothing I love more than putting on a baggy t-shirt and shorts on a hot day to run errands. Today I had the urge to go to Loft to check out the extra 40% off sale items sale, so I headed to a nearby mall. Unfortunately, the few items I found in 00P were either ill fitting or way overpriced (try 69.99 for an unlined skirt - even with the 40% off I wasn't going to pay for that). I decided to go into a nearby TJ.Maxx just because I didn't feel like going home yet, and I found some practical plain black flats for only $12 to replace a pair of mine that have seen better days (and years, haha). Overall, not a very successful shopping day.
T-shirt: Forever 21
Shorts: Guess
Sandals: Loft (extra 40% off on the website, but not in my local store!)
Necklace: Etsy
Bracelets: Fossil, John Hardy, no name brand, and no name brand from Mexico vacation 14 years ago
Bag: B. Makowski via T.J. Maxx
Sunglasses: Versace
The white bracelet is from a trip to Mexico about 14 years ago. My mom and I went with my best friend and her parents to San Diego but we all took a day trip bus tour to Tijuana and some other towns. While there, we were encouraged to eat all the food at the restaurants that the bus stopped at, being like certified tourist attractions and safe places to eat, supposedly. Less than 24 hours later, all of us had salmonella food poisoning, lol. I'll always remember that trip when I wear that bracelet haha.

las vegas & an outfit

I didn't really say so, but I was on vacation all of July 4th week. I went home to visit my parents, went to a family reunion, went to Las Vegas with my parents, and then came back to Miami. There was a LOT of flying involved, too much. Right before I flew home my 2nd Target order arrived. I decided to keep the Versie Patent Pumps in Natural instead of the Versie Taupe Pumps.
Left: Versie in Taupe
Right: Versie in Patent
The fit seemed better, and I was dying to wear them in Vegas, so I packed them and went home. Unfortunately, during my first stint wearing them we walked about 15 minutes down the strip in the WRONG direction before we realized, and then had to walk back that 15 minutes plus another 10 to get to our correct destination, the Planet Hollywood hotel. Once inside the PH hotel, we walked about another 20 minutes trying to find the right theater for our show. My heel bled :( I am afraid to wear these again! I am going to hold off wearing uncomfortable shoes until my heel recovers.

I really didnt take many pictures, I was too busy gambling!
This is of the Bellagio fountain show. Blurry thanks to the iPhone.

We stayed at the Flamingo, which is apparently an older hotel, but you wouldnt know by the design of the room:
I am in LOVE with the headboard. Although I wouldn't pick patent for my own home, I am dying to get a headboard similar to this (the quilted pattern) for my own place some day.
A view from our room to the pool. They have an 18+ pool somewhere down there, if ya kno what I'm sayin', which my mom of all people wanted to go to, but I opted out. I had some video poker to play!
Since returning from vacation, I've been super uninspired. I really struggled this week to even put on clothes let alone ones that I thought were nice enough to blog about. I leave you with my matchy matchy outfit from today:
Cardigan: Banana Republic
Shirt: Polo
Jeans: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21, XS/S (HUGE on me, I'm going to have to get one of the hole punchers for belts soon) (Here in grey)
Headband: (can't see it- but it matches my shirt and belt) Forever 21
Shoes: Nine West Outlet
Bag: Longchamp Le Pliage (here)
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: John Hardy (here)
Watch: Fossil (similar here)
