olive green, blush, and browns

I bought these pants from Banana Republic about 6 months ago on super sale to try out the whole "skinny ankle work pant" thing. I was not expecting to like the style let alone the color, and when the pants arrived ... well.. I didn't love the color. But I did love the style - perfect for showing off shoes, and very slim cut. I've paired these before with all black, but I tried them again today with blush for my blouse and browns everywhere else and I think I like it better this way. I think olive green is a pretty tricky color.. I still can't think of many other color combinations besides black, brown, and now blush. How would you wear olive green? I'd also love to know how you'd style these pants because I just have the hardest time wearing them!

  1. Hi Elissa! Thank you for swinging by my blog and saying "hi" a couple days ago - I am so glad I found yours in return, and absolutely love your style - so feminine and polished! Those pants really are fantastic, and you've styled them perfectly! New follower and am really looking forward to digging through your archived posts!

  2. I actually really LOVE this colour combination!!! Those pants fit you like a glove! I LOVE the blush with olive green, and don't think I would have ever thought of that combo. Surprisingly, I don't own ANY olive green pieces, so I'm of no help when it comes to colour combinations, but you don't seem like you need help because this looks GORGEOUS!

  3. I like your outfit and have worn tomato red with olive green, and also have used eggplant. The tomato red is a complement of olive green so it is a strong combination. I have darker skin than you so you would have to see if it works for you.

  4. thanks for the color suggestions! I also just saw another blogger wearing olive with a bright cobalt blue which looked great - so many options for me to try now.
