olive & purple

Last time I wore these pants, I asked for recommendations on what other colors to pair with them, because an olive type green can be a little tricky to deal with. One commenter suggested a deep purple, and as soon as she suggested that, I had the perfect top in mind. I usually reserve this top for "going out" because it is low cut and sheer, but I made it acceptable for work today by adding a tee underneath. I also picked up these patent tortoiseshell pumps from DSW this past weekend. I won a gift card from Facebook for $50 and decided to spend it on mid-low heel brown shoes for work. These are definitely not a plain brown shoe, but I feel great about the purchase. After a full day of wear I had no discomfort in my right foot and only slight chaffing on my left, so I think they are a winner. If you are interested check the clearance section of your local DSW - They had a pair in each size from 6-8! Any other ideas about how to wear olive green? I'd love to hear them!

  1. Olive green look lovely with other autumnal colours such as mustard yellow, burnt orange, tomato red.

  2. great ideas! I think I'm lacking mustard yellow in my closet, but I do have a burnt orange jacket and a tomato red cardigan which I'm going to try. Thanks for the suggestions!

  3. beautiful color combo!

  4. Is it just me or does olive kind of go with everything? Granted, my top is a little darker than the color of your pants - maybe it's more of an army green. I was seriously going through my (abbreviated) closet yesterday and thinking that I could wear that shirt and leopard shoes with literally every skirt and pair of pants I own. So weird.

  5. you are totally right. i went through my closet today and held up the pants to basically every shirt/jacket i own and they match everything. if i get over the fact that they are green and just think of them as more of a khaki it's easier for me to envision the outfit possibilities
