I added my new J. Crew Schoolboy blazer in purple to my 30 x 30 partly because I obviously wanted to wear my brand new blazer, but also because I wanted to take some risks and have a little more fun with my work outfits. Purple = fun, didn't you know? But in all seriousness, I was so nervous that I'd be called to go to court today that I packed my brown tweed suit and put it on a hanger in my car. You know, just in case. Thankfully, I was able to sport my purple ensemble all day without changing into the suit.
In other random news, have you heard any good lawyer jokes lately? I never understood them growing up. Now, I realize they pretty much all make fun of the fact that lawyers are supposedly liars and crooks, haha. So far, I haven't felt like I've been lying at all - let me say that from the beginning. Lawyering (yep that's not a real word) is often about framing the facts in a way that's helpful to you. I really look forward to putting my spin on things. It's probably my favorite thing to do second to going to court. What's your favorite thing that you do at your job? How do you take risks with your work wardrobe?
