A friend of mine was visiting Miami a few weeks ago and we had a conversation about "how long has it been since you shopped for non-work clothes?" and the answer for both of us was "a really long time." Although now we're in our mid 20's and work seems to dominate our lives (we are there 5 out of the 7 days a week, of course) we have to remember that we do have nighttimes and weekends to relax, have fun, and wear whatever the heck we want. I went to Forever 21 this weekend to return the black pair of
these shoes. (Side note: in the 15 minute car ride from my apartment to the store, the black shoes scratched and revealed tan scratch marks.. the marks were very obvious, so beware of buying the black version of these shoes. The nude, on the other hand, scratch nude, so they aren't as noticeable.) Of course Forever 21's return policy is store credit, so I shopped around and decided, for the first time in a long time, to buy some trendy, fun, non-work clothes. I ended up with
these silky, pajama-like, leopard print shorts in the dressing room. I really liked the fit and decided to get them for only $15.80. When I got home, I decided to see if I could put together a few outfits to convince me to keep such a trendy item. After I put together 3 outfits for different occasions, I decided to keep them. I'd like to pair some more color with them in the future, but for now, blacks and shades of brown are good enough for me.
How would you style leopard print shorts? If you work, do you find yourself buying mostly work clothes or "play" clothes too?
Necklace: Banana Republic
Necklace: same F21 one as above, just worn long (
similar)
I love the 3 looks. Number 3 is my favourite :-)

So cute! I especially love that last outfit. I've been seeing those soft/pj-styled shorts everywhere and have been kind of eyeing them a little bit, wondering if I could figure out how to style them without actually looking like I'm wearing pajamas, but you look so polished here! Bravo. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the last outfit - it looks like the most comfortable stylish pair of pjs that would be allowed outside! plus that bracelet is amazing.
ReplyDeletewell I would say that most of my work clothes are my casual clothes except now that it's summer, and I have no not work clothes. it's a problem!
I love all of these! The middle one is definitely my favorite. Super cute!

these shorts are AMAZING. i love the way you paired them, too. the last outfit is definitely my favorite. I would wear a bright coral colored top with them, and keep the accessories super simple!

LOVE all three looks, and now I want the shorts. Last outfit is my favorite, you look crazy crazy hot. And I agree - I realized this semester that I stopped shopping for fun clothes and started just getting work clothes. A girl cannot live on pencil skirts alone!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute shorts - I really like the last look! :) I find even though I need more good work clothes I'm always drawn to more casual clothes in stores! Definitely buy too many casual clothes.

ReplyDeleteAll looks are amazing! But the third one is my favorite :) The color of the top truly compliments the leopard print shorts <3
