Ann Taylor Paisley Border Shift Dress 2 Ways

When I went to the mall Saturday to return some things to Ann Taylor, I brought this dress with me. It was the one thing that I was iffy about in my order. I did love the dress, but I knew I had no immediate need for it. I got a really great price for it ($36), but I've been pretty good about not keeping something just because it's cheap. But this dress wasn't just a cheap find for me - I love the paisley print, I think the dress shape is interesting, and I could see it worn somewhere like a daytime wedding, a networking event, brunch, or even casually. I just don't have any wedding invites, scheduled networking events, brunches, or anywhere to wear it right now, haha. What ended up selling me on the dress was when I took it out of the bag at the AT store to return it - the sales associate immediately swooned and said "you're returning THAT! It's so pretty! If you return it I'm going to buy it!" Call it peer pressure, but I immediately decided to keep it - or at least keep the receipt and think about the purchase a bit more before returning the dress. Here are two ways I'd wear it:
1) I'd wear this to a wedding in a heartbeat

2) I'd wear this casually, maybe to the mall or to a brunch with friends

  1. you must keep it. it looks great on you, is easy to accessorize with things you already have, and is uniqe. you could maybe even try maybe belting and adding a blazer to see if you couldn't get away with it for a more casual day at work ;)

  6. What do you put in your hair? It's always so sleek and gorgeous. Of course, the dress is also gorgeous and I'm sure you will find a place to wear it, but you should totally do a hair tutorial, I would love to see what products and tools you use.

  7. Thank you for saying that! I got a keratin treatment done a year ago, and I think it stays in your hair until it grows out, so my ends aren't too much trouble because of that. I also have a fantastic flat iron which I always rave about. Personally I think it's better than the Chi irons. It's called the Sedu and I buy it from Folica.com. On this particular day I curled my hair with my 2" curling iron from Hot Tools, and I also remembered to put Moroccan oil on my ends, but it's not an everyday thing.
