When my parents moved last summer, I went home for a week and helped them pack up the house. I also cleaned out my childhood room and gave away a lot of my clothes that had been sitting there unworn throughout undergrad and law school. I saved this sort of odd maxi skirt from the giveaway pile, though. I think I bought it in 8th grade to wear to a dance or something, but I don't think I even wore it. Maxi skirts are definitely back in style now, but I swore when they came back on the scene that I'd never wear one. I'm not sure of my logic. Anyway, today when I went to get dressed, I saw the snake print of this skirt peeking out from beneath other clothes and I decided to give it a try. I definitely felt very outside my comfort zone wearing the skirt, but the actual outfit was very comfortable. I should have taken everyone's word for it that maxi skirts were comfortable! I wouldn't call myself a maxi skirt convert yet, but I definitely won't write them off so quickly like I did before.
Do you own any maxi skirts or dresses? Are there any trends that you were against for no logical reason, and later found out you liked them?

Great post and great skirt! I especially love the top! I try to get outside my comfort zone as much as possible and find I am happy when I do!

What a lovely top! Looks great with that maxi skirt... we're the same, you know. I was also skeptic to hop onto the maxi trend, especially since I am petite as well. But I did it and it's one of my faves as of late!

That printed maxi skirt is so nice on you :) I'm a big fan of maxi dresses, although I'm very picky over maxi skirts for some reason, haha.
ReplyDeleteI really like that skirt on you - the cut is flows really nicely and the pattern is kind of animal, kind of floral.
