Labor Day Weekend in Chicago Part 2

I wore the outfit below out to dinner and drinks on Saturday night in Chicago. We went to dinner at Lou Malnati's, which is supposed to be the best Chicago style pizza in the city. I'll let you Chicagoans fight about that one. I'm an East Coast girl through and through so this was quite the experience for me. I mean, I'm from the pizza belt! Overall impression: this was not pizza. It made for a hearty meal, but it definitely wasn't pizza. This is pizza :)
Anyway, after "pizza", my BF and I kind of wandered around trying to find some bar to go to. He lives in an area of town that isn't known for its nightlife so we weren't sure where to go. We ended up venturing to Public House because it's a chain and the one in Philly is fun. Then we wandered down the street and found a street that seemed pretty bustling with a bunch of bars. We ended up going to El Hefe for the rest of the night. Their website classifies themselves as a nightclub but to me this was just a bar.. but maybe this is what "clubs" are like in Chicago? - not sure. I noticed nobody really fist pumps in Chicago. What's up with that??!?
About my outfit: I hope I don't look like "Halloween" in these pics, lol. Wearing orange and black together can be a recipe for disaster but hopefully this is not one. I missed this jacket for many months because it's so hot in Miami and I was glad to be able to wear it in Chicago (even though it was definitely hotter than I thought it would be at night). Also, FYI, there were about 15 GIANT SPIDERS hanging all around me during these photos. It took everything I had to stay out there for 1 minute to take the pics. BF needs to buy some Raid or something! So gross!

  2. I don't get any halloween vibes from this outfit - and I think the jacket and pumps are just adorable.
I've never had Chicago pizza, but since I live 15 minutes from new haven, I can't see ever wanting anything else. Modern is my favorite, if I had to choose.

  4. Fortunately your taste in jackets is better than your taste in pizza. Did that say white clams????? Love the jacket. Probably should be careful what groups of fans you wear it around during football season however.

  7. Haha I don't even follow football so I have no idea which teams you're referring to!

  8. Modern is my favorite too! But every once in a while I'll go to Pepe's when people are visiting from out of town to show them "the original" lol

  9. You are safe this weekend. They are playing each other. Orange is both Miami and Florida, but not Florida State.

  10. I'm not into studded leather (looks great on you, just not my thing), but I am lusting after the Karen Millen leather jackets with the asymetrical zipper, but they are really pricey; and it would be blind mail order. The closest Karen Millen to me is Dallas.

  11. Aw thank you! I'm going to show him your comment. He takes 0 interest in taking my photos so I'm always trying to encourage him to try and get more into it. Maybe if somebody thinks he's doing a good job he'll care more! lol
