On Work Hairstyles

I think somebody told me once that you shouldn't wear your hair in a high pony tail to work (like below), so, every time I wear it like this I feel sort of ridiculously sinful. Anyway, I haven't worn my hair in a high ponytail to work in a long long time, but when I wore this outfit, I got a LOT of random compliments coupled with "your hair looks good." Great, I'm glad my schlubby, didn't-shower-today hair was impressive. Anyway, I realized I can't even do a proper bun hairstyle for work, so I should probably work on that. Props to anyone who can do pretty up-dos for work with minimal effort - I envy you.

  1. Sure they didn't mean a 80's style pigtail on top of the head? That would be unprofessional.
Anyways, I love this whole outfit, including the hair!

  2. Good point, that's probably what they meant. Yet a giant sock bun on top of a head is somehow ok? Makes no sense to me. Either way, I'm not a fan of either look!

  3. Ditto! That white top looks luxurious. And gosh - I can't seem to find a blazer that fits well :(

  4. The sock bun is where it's at!! I feel the same way about people who can do a pretty up do, but if I can master the sock bun so can you!!

  5. I'd love to see this look without the jacket bc the top looks so luxe on! And I LOVE this skirt. The length is perfect and the colors are amazing. As to the hair, I get what you mean. I have naturally wavy hair so a messy 'do looks best if I tame my hair first so I find that if I'm doing that much work I might as well just leave it loose after a quick blow dry. When it comes to dirty hair that needs to go up I have a few ways to pin it but if I go for a ponytail I just stick to a high of low sleek one at the nape. My thoughts is the a ponytail at the middle of your head looks more sporty. But a "sporty" pony can be perfectly balanced with makeup as you've done here.

  6. How tall are you?
I don't fit in Zara clothes, the are always too long.
