Navy / Burgundy and a Brahmin Outlet Sale

I tried the below color combo for (what I think was) the first time and I ended up liking it. Could be a bit dark for the summer, but appropriate for an office for sure. In other news - I've been carrying this bag by Brahmin for the past year, almost to the day, and I LOVE it. I get compliments all the time, it doesn't show any wear (not even an exaggeration - and it's crazy because I throw my bags around), and it's functional for work. In short, I lurve. Anyway, I received an email that my local Brahmin outlet is having a 40% off the entire store sale until this weekend, so if you are interested in this bag, call any of the outlets and I'm sure a sales associate can help you find it. I stopped into the store last week and they had a ton of colors in stock, including the bag below. With the 40% off discount the bag comes to ~$177 (I believe the sticker price was 295?). Let me know if you need help locating it and I can try to help!

Turquoise Wrap Dress and Summer Sweaters

Disclaimer: I've been wearing this sweater too much. I'm sorry, but it's so comfortable and goes with everything, what do you expect?! Being fully aware of how often I'm wearing the below sweater, I took advantage of a sale at Loft the other day and ordered a bunch of things to get free shipping, mostly sweaters. Unfortunately, most were misses and will be returned as soon as the entire order comes in (don't you hate it when orders come in several packages?). However, I did decide to keep a mixed-media slightly sheer cardigan that is pretty cute and functional for work, as well as an open-weave white sweater to replace one from Old Navy from forever ago that needed to be retired. What's your favorite place to buy summer-weight sweaters?

Textured Brushstrokes

I wore the below Theory dress on a random day at work, I didn't have any special meetings or client contact, but I think it would have been fine and appropriate if I had. I know I've said it before, but sometimes you can get the best jewelry deals at Forever 21. The below clustered pearl necklace is from F21 a while ago, but I still love it just as much as the day I bought it. In other random news, this past weekend my boyfriend and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday running errands and finishing projects around our house because my mom is coming to visit today! We've had a lot on our "to do" list, but it took a visitor to make us get off our butts to tick items off that list. A LOT of painting was completed. Oh and our pool turned green but a bucket of chlorine turned it back to blue within an hour :)

White Dress, Black Lace

I wore the below outfit to a CLE presentation at my local courthouse the other day. I don't have too much to say about the outfit except it was SWELTERING when I took these photos - summer officially started this week, but summer hit south Florida a few weeks ago. Ugh. I'm not sure if I've posted these sunglasses on the blog before, but I got them at the Swap Shop, a Ft. Lauderdale area landmark and always a fun weekend day trip :) You never know what you'll find, there's some great people watching, and it's always fun to try to get a bargain!

Red Jersey Dress

Although I usually dress up for depositions, I also want to be comfortable because they can last up to all day depending on the person and the case. I had to drive up to our office an hour away last week for a few meetings and a deposition, so I wore the below jersey dress - yes, it is actually a dress even though it looks like a 2-piece thing. I was so so so comfortable all day! I could also see this dress working in a casual setting if you wore sexier shoes - maybe a strappy sandal - and different accessories, but below I ventured into business casual territory with the sweater. Very versatile :)

Textured Burgundy/Purple Dress & Kylie Lip Kits

I wore the below dress to a lunch and learn seminar on closing arguments at my local courthouse. I didn't have much excuse to dress up last week so I figured being in public in front of people I don't know would be a good enough reason to wear this dress, lol. This has been one of my favorite dresses that I've rented from Rent the Runway so far. The texture did not show up as well online as in person, but it was unexpected in a good way. Also, the color appeared more burgundy online but in person it skewed towards purple. I got compliments from colleagues on my "purple dress." Overall, very pleased with this one :)
In other news, a friend of mine gave me one of her extra Kylie lip kits this weekend and I'm wearing it below in Koko K- I'm loving it! I wore the Kylie lipstick all day (it literally lasted all day, even after eating lunch). Of course it didn't look 100% the same after 10 hours of wear, but it was pretty good! Also, of course everyone who has reviewed these things agrees that they are drying - I just put a little lip balm on before I put it on, and applied it on top as the day went on when I felt I needed to add some moisture. Also, after learning that the lip kits are almost the exact formula as the much more affordable ColourPop matte liquid lipsticks (click here for informative video), I was intrigued to also try the ColourPop ones. I went a lil' crazy the other night and got 4 or so matte lipsticks and 1 of the satin ones, plus about 3 matching lip liners... so I'll let you know how those are when they arrive :) Hey - for $6 each, they are the same price or better than drugstore lipsticks!

Tie-waist Shirt Dress

I wore the below dress last weekend to an Ellie Goulding concert with some friends. I like the sporty vibe, but I think this was a bit too much out of my comfort zone. I also don't think there are enough different ways to wear it to make it something permanent in my closet, but it was fun to wear for the day. This is the first time I've worn these Target sneakers on the blog, but I've had them for a few months. My friend picked them up for me when we bought inexpensive shoes for Ultra, but I decided I liked them too much to wear them in the mud and have been wearing them almost every weekend since. If you are interested in this dress, know it runs large - I'm wearing a 0 and have it cinched in a lot, it's supposed to be worn lower on the waist and have more of a relaxed fit but it made me look like a child when worn that way :)

Before & After

I had some depositions last week and I decided to wear this Nicole Miller skirt, but had a hard time finding something to pair with it in terms of a jacket or sweater. First I tried the below waterfall sweater, but after seeing pictures I thought it looked a bit too voluminous considering the volume of the skirt. Then I tried on my trusty Theory black blazer and I thought it looked more streamlined and more like a suit. The skirt was a risky rental from Rent the Runway, and I probably wouldn't rent this again. It's just a bit too long for me, hard to find things to pair with it, and it wrinkles too easily. So far everything else has been a hit so I'm OK with one 'miss.' How would you wear this flute skirt?
